Applications Open For Marine Apprenticeship Leading To U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License
The Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association is now accepting applications for its seventh annual Marine Apprenticeship, to be held from June 20th to July 19th. The four-week program provides Standards of Training and Certification of Watch-keeping training, including First Aid and CPR certification, Sea Survival and Fire Fighting. Sixty-five students have graduated from the Marine Apprenticeship since it started in 2017, with 37 entering the Marine Industry workforce. The Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association is recognized by the V.I. Department of Labor as an Eligible Training Provider with a Registered Apprenticeship Program that extends the training of the Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association’s Marine Apprenticeship into a paid 12-month Marine Apprenticeship, 2000-hour Work Placement.
