Unions & Utilities Sign Labor Agreement For Renewable Projects In The State Of Wisconsin, Which Will Need Nearly 19,000 Construction Jobs
Ethan Duran at The Daily Reporter, the construction news source for Wisconsin, reports an agreement between the State’s top Utility Providers and five Construction Unions will solidify Union Labor used for most future utility-scale solar, wind and battery storage projects in Wisconsin. The parties who took the pledge were Alliant Energy, Madison Gas & Electric, WEC Energy Group, Xcel Energy and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters, the Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139. Officials say renewable installation will need nearly 19,000 construction jobs.
