LABOR NEWS UPDATE: CWA Reaches Tentative Agreement With DirecTV
Communications Workers of America (CWA) District 9 has reached a tentative four-year agreement with DirecTV, which includes significant improvements in wages, health benefits, holidays, scheduling and job security. DirecTV Workers will see a 14% increase over the life of the contract, with the first year seeing a 5% increase retroactive to April 7th, 2024 - plus 3% yearly increase in years 2025 through 2027, and annual Cost-of-Living adjustments with a total of 5% per year. Workers can also expect to see their out-of-pocket health care costs decline. In addition, changes to the overtime rate of pay will mean all time over 54 hours per week will pay double-time. For those Workers continuing their education, tuition aid will now be made available. The CWA Bargaining Team says it was awed at the solidarity shown by CWA Members across the country and is thankful for the support, which made a huge difference at the negotiating table.
