Scott McClallen at The Center Square reports the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity has announced nine recipients have been awarded a combined $6.1 million in State Apprenticeship Expansion Program Grants, which will help expand access to Registered Apprenticeship opportunities in non-traditional sectors and occupations.  Grant recipients will establish U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Programs.  The Michigan Labor Department says the median annual earnings for those completing a Registered Apprenticeship Program is currently more than $70,000.
