Dartmouth University ‘Refuses To Work With’ Basketball Players' Union, ‘Potentially Sending The Case To Federal Court’
NBC Boston reports Dartmouth University will not enter into collective bargaining Service Employees International Union Local 560, the Union that its Men’s Basketball Players voted to join earlier this month - a move that could send the case to Federal Court. The school was adamant, in a release, that it believes “Athletes in the Ivy League are not Employees." A National Labor Relations Board Regional Director ruled last month that Dartmouth Basketball Players were Employees, clearing the way for them to vote to join SEIU.
