United Auto Workers-Represented Academic Student Workers At The New School In New York City Reach Tentative Contract Agreement That Ends A Three-Day Strike

Rosemary Feitelberg at WWD reports that after months of negotiations and a three-day Strike, Academic Student Workers at The New School in New York City have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with the university.  Pending ratification, the deal would give the Workers - who are Members of the Academics Come Together-United Auto Workers (ACT-UAW Local 7902, across-the-board raises ranging between 24% and 31%, and 80% health care coverage would be provided for all Graduate Workers.  The contract would also secure a few firsts, including the first codification in a labor agreement in the U.S. of protection for trans and reproductive rights.
