"Absolutely No Warning Whatsoever” - As YouTube Music Employee ‘Pleads For Support’ From The Austin, Texas City Council, They ‘Learn Their Contracts Were Ended By The Company’
Kelsey Sanchez at KVUE-TV in Austin, Texas reports as a YouTube Music Contract Worker was preparing to make a victory speech at the Austin City Council after pleading with the Council to support their cause toward bringing their employers to the negotiating table with their Union, he and other Team Members learned their contracts were ended by the company. Jack Benedict, who was speaking before the Council, claims he and his Co-Workers were misled and not given a specific date of when their contract was supposed to end. "Absolutely no warning whatsoever. In fact, we were led to believe that our contract was going to get renewed," he said. The job cuts come after YouTube Music Workers who Unionized through the Alphabet Workers Union-Communications Workers of America (AWU-CWA) had gone on Strike after citing unfair working conditions.
