47 Line Workers Complete ComEd Apprenticeship Program In Illinois

Lauren Strauss at WIFR-LD in Rockford, Illinois reports on a recent celebration held to welcome 47 new Line Workers continuing into ComEd positions, who will go on to perform electrical work and serve more than nine million people across the region’s power grid.  For more than two years, the graduates built their skills with on-the-job training to safely work on power lines spanning 90,000 miles across Northern Illinois.  The Electric Utility says as many as 150,000 jobs will be created in Illinois by 2050 and that it has invested in training programs to prepare for the growing demand of Clean Energy Workers.
