State University Of New York Potsdam Cuts Seven Staff Positions Amid $9 Million Deficit - UUP Responds Cuts Are Part Of A

Emily Russell at The Adirondack Reporter reports State University of New York (SUNY) Potsdam is continuing to downsize due to its $9 million deficit by cutting seven Staff positions, which has United University Professions (UUP) responding: "We have worked hard to pressure both campus and system administration to avoid this outcome and we maintain that this decision was a choice, not an inevitability," UUP said in a statement.  The Union is describing the cuts as part of a "multi-fronted attack on the SUNY system" by Chancellor John King.  UUP represents Staff at SUNY Potsdam.
