The State Department Of Labor Announces Partnership With New York City-Based Careers Through Culinary Arts Program ‘To Improve’ New York's Hospitality Workforce

Thomas Turgeon at WICZ reports the New York State Department of Labor has partnered with the New York City-based Careers Through Culinary Arts Program to train eligible Asylum Seekers for roles in the Hospitality and Food Service Industries.  State Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon says the partnership will help extend employment to new Workers within the State.  The initiative will teach participants about valuable skills within the Food-Service Industry through a five-week, hands-on program, which is located at Francis Lewis High School in Queens.  Graduates will receive New York City Food Handler's License Certification.  Upon certification of the participants, graduates will be placed into entry-level positions within the Hospitality Industry.
