Condé Nast Union Members Hold 24-Hour Walkout Amid Layoff Talks - More Than 400 Workers At Vanity Fair, Vogue, Condé Nast Entertainment, Bon Appétit And Other Brands Walk To Protest Bargaining Practices The Union Alleges Are ‘Unlawful’
Katie Kilkenny at The Hollywood Reporter reports on Union Members who work at Condé Nast brands - including Vanity Fair, Vogue and GQ, who walked off the job earlier this week to protest negotiations conduct that they claim violates Labor Law. More than 400 Workers employed by those publicans struck for 24 hours while holding a rally in front of the company’s offices in New York City. Negotiations have turned sour since Condé Nast’s CEO announced the company’s intentions to cut 5% of its workforce. The one-day walkout “is really about the company engaging in regressive bargaining and breaking the law in bargaining by rescinding an offer that they had previously made around layoffs,” Condé Nast Entertainment Union Bargaining Unit Vice Chair Ben Dewey told The Hollywood Reporter.
