The Wisconsin Department Of Workforce Development & The University Of Wisconsin-Stout Partner On A ‘First-Of-Its-Kind’ Apprenticeship Effort

Jerry Poling at The La Crosse (Wisconsin) Tribune reports the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the University of Wisconsin-Stout are partnering on a first-of-its-kind program in Wisconsin to combine instruction at a four-year college with a Registered Apprenticeship Program.  The new Workforce Development Specialist Certificate Program, also known as Train the Trainer, teaches students about employment and training solutions that meet the needs of businesses and Workers.  W-Stout is the first four-year university collaborating with Wisconsin Apprenticeship since Apprenticeship began back in 1911 to offer classes that fulfill instruction requirements for a Registered Apprenticeship - and could be credited toward an Undergraduate or Graduate Degree Program.  The three-class, on-line program teaches students ways to design, develop, implement and evaluate training and development solutions.
