Workers Say Legoland ‘Is Trying To Deter’ California Ride Technician Engineers’ ‘Bid To Unionize’
Michael Sainato at The Guardian reports Lego has hired Union Avoidance Consultants to deter their Ride Technician Engineers employed at Legoland in Carlsbad, California from Unionizing. The Workers want to be represented by the International Association of Machinists and have filed the appropriate paperwork with the National Labor Relations Board. One Worker at Legoland described to The Guardian lagging and low pay in the Ride Engineering Department, arbitrary and unfair disciplinary enforcement by supervisors, and a culture of favoritism fostered by managers and supervisors - prompting Workers to start organizing a Union at the park, said the Worker, who requested to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation.
