Addressing El Paso's Teacher Shortage: New Apprenticeship Program Offers Training And Financial Resources
Jonathan Mejia at KFOX In El Paso, Texas reports on a new program that’s looking to help address the Teacher shortage across the Borderland by providing both job training and financial resources to complete the program. Education Service Center Region 19 has launched the first Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program in El Paso. The program looks to provide more opportunities for El Pasoans, but also serve as a Teacher pipeline to address the shortage across the area’s Schools Districts. "We’re trying to actively recruit and seek individuals that would like to serve our community and our students by getting certified to become Teachers," Teresa Hinojos, a Professional Development Consultant, said.
