The Maryland Daily Record reports the non-profit organization Civic Works’ Center for Sustainable Careers has kicked off its inaugural three-month Roofing Pre-Apprenticeship Job Training Program at its training facility in Baltimore.  The organization supports underemployed and unemployed Baltimore residents in building the skills needed to secure quality careers.  The program has seen more than 1,000 graduates since its launch in 2003, 90% of which have secured employment and earn above the minimum wage.
