National Union Solidarity Day In New York C ‘Draws Big Names Amid Big Crowd’ - Unionized Workers Tell Striking Actors & Writers: “We’ve Got Your Backs”
With it being day 113 of the Writers Guild of America Strike and Day 40 of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists Strike, Sean Piccoli at Deadline reports on National Union Solidarity Day, which kicked off on Tuesday (August 23rd) in New York City with several hundred marchers forming a picket line that stretched two full blocks outside the Manhattan Corporate Offices of Amazon and HBO. Striking Writers and Actors saw their ranks bolstered by Unionized Teachers, Nurses, Truckers, Musicians, Retail and Hotel Workers, and they got vocal encouragement from Union Leaders who promised to have their backs.
