NBC has a story on Donna DeCaprio, the first Woman to lead Atlantic City’s main Casino Union - Unite Here Local 54, in the 107-year history of the Union.  Sixty-percent of the Union's 10,000 Members are Women, most who clean hotel rooms, serve drinks and tidy up public areas.  DeCaprio, who began her career in 1987 stocking bar supplies at the Tropicana Casino, is one of the most influential people in Atlantic City as Local 54’s President.  The Union has repeatedly brought the Casino Industry to its knees during labor disputes.  “I find Women generally take a more collaborative approach to issues,” she said. “I would like to build more alliances with other Unions and build some bridges.”
