NLRB ‘Rejects’ eBay’s ‘Attempt To Stop’ TCGplayer Workers In Syracuse From ‘Going Union’ With The CWA

Rick Moriarty at Syracuse.com reports the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has rejected eBay’s request that it invalidate a March 10th vote by Workers at eBay-owned TCGplayer in Syracuse to Unionize.  The NLRB said the company raised “no substantial issues warranting review” of the 136-to-87 vote by Workers in favor of joining Communications Workers of America Local 1123.  The Union vote at TCGplayer’s Authentication Center on South Warren Street was the first successful Unionization effort at eBay, which bought TCGplayer for $295 million in October.  TCGplayer operates an on-line marketplace for new and used trading cards for board games including Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering.  Nearly 300 people employed there verify the quantity, type and condition of up to 100,000 trading cards a day.
