900 Rochester General Hospital Nurses Vote To Strike - New Contract Bargaining ‘Remains At An Impasse Over Numerous’ Issues, Including Staffing, Wages & Patient Care
Victoria E. Freile at The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports roughly 900 Nurses employed at Rochester General Hospital have voted to authorize a Strike. According to the Rochester Union of Nurses and Allied Professionals, the Union has been bargaining with Hospital Administrators since October and remain at an impasse over numerous issues, including staffing, wages and patient care. By striking, the Union said Nurses will bring attention to their ongoing concerns for what they describe as "inadequate staffing levels and unsafe working conditions" and to prompt immediate action from Hospital Management.
