Contributor Richard McGahey has authored a story that appears in Forbes that takes a look back on how Labor Unions saved New York City from bankruptcy in the 1970s.  New York’s brush with bankruptcy was staved off with the help of the American Federation of Teachers, which kept New York from entering formal bankruptcy through Pension Fund investments.
