Just Outside Syracuse, New York - IBEW Local 43 ‘Plans To Double Its Paid Training Program To Help Meet The Need For Thousands Of Electricians’

Rick Moriarty at Syracuse.com reports International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 43 - with the help of a $1 million New York State Grant, is getting ready to begin construction on a $7 million addition at its Training Center located in Clay, New York that will nearly double its classroom capacity.  Demand for highly skilled Electricians is expected to soar in the next few years and Micron Technology - the country’s largest maker of computer memory, is going to need as many as 2,000 Electricians to build its giant semiconductor plant in Clay, and up to 600 full-time Electricians to help operate and maintain the high-tech complex once it’s built, according to the Union.
