After Rallying In The NYS Capitol ‘To Eliminate The Sub-Minimum Wage For Tipped Workers,’ Academy Award-Winning Actress Susan Sarandon & Former Candidate For New York Lieutenant Governor Arrested
Kate Lisa at Spectrum News reports New York State Police arrested Academy and Emmy award-winning actress Susan Sarandon and former Lieutenant Gubernatorial candidate Ana Maria Archila, among more than a dozen advocates, earlier this week as part of a rally to fight for higher wages for Tipped Workers in New York. Sarandon and Archila were among about a dozen activists with One Fair Wage to cause a disruption after rallying in the Capitol to eliminate the sub-minimum wage for Tipped Workers. "I know how difficult it is ... they are very, very important, need to be treated with dignity," Sarandon said of Tipped Restaurant Workers. "They were essential, they were the ones who were left (during the pandemic) who kept the economy going."
