MyHometownToday.com reports on an opportunity the Tompkins-Cortland Building & Construction Trades Council and an array of partners are offering that provides high school students with a closer look at a number of job opportunities in the Skilled Trades, as well as other fields.  Students will participate in the Growing Skilled Trades Event, which features demonstrations in advanced manufacturing and construction - with hands-on interactive exhibits from area businesses.  “The event will create an increased awareness of the high demand occupation available in our own backyard and across the Southern Tier,” said Nick Ahearn, Steering Committee Chair and Membership Development Manager from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 139.
