Evan Saunders at The Journal of Commerce by ConstructionConnect reports the Electrical Joint Training Committee (EJTC) has seen success with Indigenous People in its Canadian Apprenticeship Training Program. Managing Director Phil Davis says the implementation of an eight-week program teaching essential math and science for interested Indigenous People has enabled the EJTC to recruit from a much wider pool. Some seven years on, the ETJC’s Indigenous Apprentices have now become a strong part of the Construction Sector in British Columbia and the program is eying expansion. “Our Indigenous Apprentices have been highly successful in the field and add a lot of value to the industry,” Davis said.
