The Major League Soccer Players Association Joins National AFL-CIO, Adding To Organized Labor’s Sports Union Roster
Daniel Moore at Bloomberg Law reports the Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA) has decided to formally affiliate with the National AFL-CIO, the country’s largest Labor Federation and players union announced. The MLSPA joins six other Professional Sports Unions the National AFL-CIO counts as Affiliated Members. National AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler said in a statement that the affiliation is about building “power for Workers and ensuring Professional Soccer Players have the strength of the entire Labor Movement behind them every single day.”
