Home Health Care Caregivers, Who Are Among New York State's ‘Lowest Paid’ Workers, Launch Fair Pay Campaign

Crystal Lewis at The Chief Leader reports on Home Health Aides kicking off a campaign for raises for Home Care Workers, who are among the lowest paid Workers in New York State.  The campaign comes as the State faces a significant shortage of Home Health Aides.  The City University of New York found that in 2020, Home Health Workers in New York City earned an average of $15.93 an hour.  A coalition of advocates launched the Fair Pay for Home Care Campaign in December in support of a Bill that would raise pay for Home Health Aides to 150% of the local minimum wage.
