National Rail Strike ‘Threatens to Slow’ U.S. Supply-Chain Recovery

Brendan Murray at Bloomberg News reports railroads and Labor Unions worked through the weekend to avoid a strike that could cost the world’s largest economy more than $2 billion a day.  Few signs of progress have emerged and the companies are advising customers of potential service disruptionsahead of a potential walkout later this week.  The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) and the International Association of Sheet Metal Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers (SMART) account for more than 90,000 Rail Employees.
