Hailey Mensik at HealthCareDive reports that the hope several Unions - including National Nurses United, the New York State Nurses Association and other major Unions that represent Teachers and other Workers, had for permanent Workplace Safety Standards to protect Health Care Staff from COVID-19 infections in the workplace were dealt a blow late last week when an Appeals Court denied an emergency petition they filed.  The Unions had pushed heavily for the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration to implement a Federal Emergency Temporary Standard for medical facilities amid shifting guidance from national and local agencies through the first year of the pandemic.
