InsiderNJ reports on Newark-based Laborers Local 55, which is taking aim at inter-generational poverty, by providing Newark residents with what the Union calls a Pathway to Apprenticeship.

The Union recently launched a five-week Construction Trade Career Pathway Workshop in an attempt, InsiderNJ reports, to work to break through the disconnect between African Americans and Hispanics and the Building Trades in order to connect people in urban communities to jobs.
