As A Way To ‘Recognize’ Manufacturing Month In Wisconsin, Department Of Workforce Development Secretary-Designee Amy Pechacek ‘Highlights Apprenticeships ‘During Visit To Training Center In Madison
(MADISON, WISCONSIN) - As a way to recognize Manufacturing Month in Wisconsin, Department of Workforce Development Secretary-designee Amy Pechacek visited Ironworkers 383 Training Center in Madison, where - during her tour of the Union’s Training Facility, she highlighted the importance and opportunities associated with Apprenticeships.
"The beautiful thing about Apprenticeship, it's a ‘learn and turn’ model. So that folks can come through here, learn their Trade while they're earning money," Pechacek said.
"These are fantastic, well-paying jobs. Folks graduate from these programs and don't have the sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars of college debt that other individuals who go through a four-year program have, and they have family-sustaining wages with great benefits that really helps our economies and really keeps, you know, our business community strong," she said.
