1199 SEIU-Represented Health Care Workers At Absolut Care At Gasport Ratify New Three-Year Contract - ‘Both Sides Lauded For Their Roles In Creating An Agreement That Illustrates Commitment’ To Workers & ‘Care For Residents’
(GASPORT, NEW YORK) - Absolut Care at Gasport and 1199 Service Employees International Union (SEIU) United Healthcare Workers have agreed to and ratified a new three-year contract. Both sides worked collaboratively to create an agreement that illustrated Absolut Care at Gasport’s commitment to its Front Line Health Care Workers and continuity of care for its residents, 1199 SEIU Officials said.
Terms of the deal include higher starting wages, general wage increases, longevity bonuses and pension improvements.
Absolut Care of Gasport is an 83-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Eastern Niagara County, five miles east of Lockport, in the Village of Gasport. The facility specializes in short-term rehabilitation, long-term skilled nursing - as well as end of life care, provided in a family-oriented environment.
1199 SEIU Members are employed there as Certified Nurse Assistants, Activities Aides, Dietary Workers and in Housekeeping and Laundry.
