Two Fire Departments Collaborate On Firefighter/Paramedic Apprenticeships In The State Of Illinois
(DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS) - Oakton Community College has established its first Public Service Apprenticeship Program, a partnership with the Evanston Fire Department, allowing residents of Evanston to gain a career path in Fire Services - tuition free.
Evanston residents who are at least 17 are eligible to apply for the three-year Apprenticeship Program.
They will work, train and learn in preparation to test for a full-time appointment as an Evanston Firefighter/Paramedic.
Students from Evanston Township High School are encouraged to apply.
The City of Evanston will cover tuition and training costs.
