(JAMESTOWN) – A Revised Contract Offer Made by RHI Monofrax to its Striking Employees Represented by the National Conference of Firemen and Oilers Local 266-F - an Affiliate of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Will be Considered by the Membership On Wednesday (February 4th).

While No Official Word Has Yet to Come From the Union itself, Postings On the Social Network Facebook say a Full Union Membership Meeting Has Been Scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Jamestown to Consider the Company’s Revised Offer. 

There is a Possibility the Membership Will Also Vote On the Offer, and if Ratified, Striking Workers Could Return to Their Jobs at RHI Monofrax On Monday, February 9th.

According to What’s Been Posted On Facebook, the Company’s Revised Offer Includes Modest Wage Increases in Each Year of a Five-Year Agreement and Lower Health Insurance Contributions, Which Would Increase Slightly in Each Year of the Contract.

And - Replacement Workers That Had Been Hired to Replace the Strikers – Reportedly as Many as 20 - Would be “Discharged Immediately,” a Key Stand Held Strong by the Union During the Strike and During a Recent Return to the Bargaining Table.

It Was Just Announced That Striking Workers Represented by the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM) at the RHI Monofrax Facility in Suburban Falconer Had Ratified a New Five-Year Agreement. 

IAM-Represented Workers Return to Work on February 9th.

A Total of 150 Workers, Represented by the IAM and Firemen/Oilers, Walked Off the Job On September 29th After Rejecting the Company’s Contract Offer. 

According to the IAM, RHI Monofrax Wanted the Workers to Agree to Massive Increases in Health Care Costs for a Plan With Far Less Coverage, While Giving the Company the Unilateral Ability to Change Plans and Rates as They Saw Fit. 

The Company Also Insisted On Freezing the Defined Benefit Pension and Replacing it With a Standard Matching 401k With Far Less Value, the Unions said.
