(OLEAN) – Teamsters Local 264 Members At Stroehmann Bakeries and Grocery Haulers Incorporated (GHI) in the Cattaraugus County City of Olean Have Voted Overwhelmingly to Ratify Contracts That Provide for Significant Workplace Improvements, Union Officials Announced Thursday (August 21st).

Fifteen Route Sales Drivers and Garage Mechanics at Stroehmann Voted 14-to-1 in Favor of a Successor Agreement That Improves Wages and Maintains Health Care Benefits.  There are 25 Drivers Who Transport Stroehmann Products, But are Subcontracted to Work for GHI.  The GHI Drivers Voted 20-to-4 to Ratify a First Agreement That Improves Pay, Health Care Coverage and Time Off.  The Drivers Will Also Maintain Their Stroehmann Seniority.  Through An Additional Memorandum of Understanding With the Company, it Was Agreed That if GHI is No Longer Stroehmann’s Logistics Company for Any Reason in the Future, The Drivers’ Jobs Will be Protected, Local 264 Officials said.

“We’re Pleased We Were Able to Negotiate a Strong Agreement After Being On An Extension Since the End of Last Year.  These Agreements Provide Six Years of Improved Wages and Protect the Members’ Health Care and Retirement,” Teamsters Local 264 President Brian Dickman said.

“We’re Happy to Negotiate These Strong Agreements and Thankful to Teamsters National Bakery and Laundry Conference Director Dennis Raymond and the Conference for Their Assistance.  Jeff Padellaro, From Bakery Conference and Teamsters Local 633 in New Hampshire, Was Instrumental in Securing These Contracts for Our Members,” Local 264 Business Agent Tony Vaccaro said.

Teamsters Local 264, Which is Headquartered in the Buffalo Suburb of Cheektowaga, Represents 4,400 Members Across Western New York, Who are Employed in Bakery, Beverage, Dairy, Warehouse, and Law Enforcement, as well as Public Sector Highway and Transportation Departments.
