(JESUP, GEORGIA) - On February 20th, Sarah Jones - Who Was Working as 2nd Assistant Camera on the Film Midnight Rider in Jesup, Georgia - Died on a Train Trestle at the Age Of 27.

Several Other Crew Members Were Injured, Some Severely, as well.

Her Friends and Supporters Have Set Up a Facebook Page, Slates For Sarah, to Honor Her Life and to Raise Awareness About Safety on Movie Sets.

Jones was a Member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 600.  The Union Released The Following Statement: The IATSE Mourns Along With Our Members. Within Hours of the Accident, There Were Local Representatives On Site Meeting With the Crew, Production and Authorities.  We Will Continue to Have a Presence in Savannah to Advocate for Our Members and Monitor This Situation as it Develops.  We Are Also Working Closely With Various Law Enforcement Entities.

Today, We’d Like to Congratulate Our Union Brothers and Sisters from the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada (AFM) Local 47 in Los Angeles at Work Making the Movies Come Alive With Music.

Overall, Local 47 Musicians Provided the Scores for Films Nominated for More Than Two Dozen Academy Awards, Including Captain Phillips, Nebraska, Frozen, Saving Mr. Banks, The Book Thief, Despicable Me 2 and Get A Horse.
