Western New York State Senator Tim Kennedy Receives Working Families Party Endorsement
(BUFFALO) – The Working Families Party (WFP) has endorsed New York State Senator Tim Kennedy in his Re-Election Bid, citing his pursuit of Better-Paying Jobs for Western New Yorkers and relentless advocacy on behalf of Middle-Class Families.
“I’m honored to receive the Working Families Party Endorsement,” Kennedy said. “When I was elected into office only seventeen months ago, Albany was home to the most dysfunctional Legislature in the Nation. I vowed to change the way our State Government operates and I look forward to continuing to move our State in a new direction.”
Throughout his first term in the Senate, Tim Kennedy has taken an aggressive approach to governing. When funding to local Schools was in jeopardy of being slashed, yet Wall Street Millionaires were slated to receive a Tax Bailout, Kennedy led the charge to ensure that our
children were protected and that Wall Street paid its fair share. Kennedy stood strongly opposed to the proposal and helped mount a Statewide Effort to overturn it.
“Tim Kennedy has consistently stood up for the hard-working families of Western New York,” said WFP Co-Chair and United Auto Workers Representative Paul Schuh. “He’s brought a blue-collar mentality to the State Capitol and he’s worked tirelessly on issues that are important to this area - like Job Creation and Economic Development.”
Since being elected in 2010 after defeating 30-year incumbent Bill Stachowksi and Republican Jack Quinn, III, Kennedy’s worked to Create Jobs, Protect Children and Families and stand up for Western New York. He now seeks re-election in the 63rd district, which includes the City of Buffalo, the town of Cheektowaga and the City of Lackawanna.
