(MANHATTAN) - The New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA), which represents 1,300 Registered Nurses (RNs) at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in Manhattan, has reached a tentative new contract agreement with Hospital Management, Union Officials have announced.

RNs will vote on the proposed four-year contract on Wednesday, January 4th. The tentative agreement addresses the Nurses' principal concerns throughout the negotiations, including affordable Health Care, relief for Members with High Prescription Costs, Safe-Staffing Levels for patients and Nurses, and Fair Wages.

Meanwhile, NYSNA Representatives say new contact negotiations are continuing at two remaining and major New York City Hospitals: Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan; and at the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. A new contract agreement had been ratified by Nurses at New York-Presbyterian Hospital earlier this month.

The New York State Nurses Association - The Voice For Nursing In The Empire State - represents more than 37,000 Members. NYSNA, which is New York’s largest Professional Association and Union for Nurses, represents RNs and some all-professional bargaining units in New York and New Jersey. NYSNA also supports Nurses and Nursing Practice through Education, Research, Legislative Advocacy and Collective Bargaining.
