Mario Cilento, The New President Of The 2.5 Million Member New York State AFL-CIO, Outlined To Western New York Labor Leaders A Progressive Labor Agenda For 2012 & Declares: "There's Nothing Labor Cannot Accomplish If It Works Together."

Cilento said the goals of the State Federation include: Working arm-in-arm with the many individual Area Labor Federations across New York State; Building up support from the General Public; Passing a Statewide Safe Patient Handling Law; Leading the effort to improve New York’s crumbling Infrastructure; Increasing the number of Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) on Statewide Construction Projects; Helping create Good-Paying Jobs; Working against those who displace Workers; and to increase Worker Benefits.

So, Which Of The Above-Mentioned Goals Do You Think Is Most Important For Organized Labor Across Western New York and New York State To Focus On?

I think we need to work on our messaging. We need to show we are 'all' about 'all' Workers. Maybe do some commercials reminding the General Public about what Unions did for all of us, etc. Touch on some Labor History and why we needed to get organized. Tell them what we are fighting against now. Then we need to encourage them to join us!
