Picking Up On WNYLaborToday.com's Latest Web Poll On Our Front Page, Labor Leaders Representing The Niagara-Orleans AFL-CIO Central Labor Council and Chautauqua County Labor Coalition Want More Of A Say With The Democratic Party, Whom They Feel - At Times - Only Recognizes Labor When It Wants Endorsements And/Or Campaign Contributions. So, What Should Labor Most Involve Itself In?
Comments
I fully support the agenda of both the Niagara-Orleans AFL-CIO Central Labor Council and the Chautauqua County Labor Coalition. Whether anyone of us likes it or not, some level of politics is in our everyday workplaces and lives. Historically, the Democratic Party endorsed and elected candidates who have been more supportive to Working-Class Families than any other Party. Of late though, many in Labor are wondering and seeking for more answers in the lack of concern when it comes to Single-Payer Health Care, the Employee Free Choice Act, the preservation of very successful social programs as Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid. So, unless there's a dramatic change to include/show more respect for Organized Labor, maybe it is time for Labor to, more then ever, push and financially support its own. Remember, 'we are the Middle Class' and we are taxpayers in every community. Thank You.
